Today and Tomorrow

It was almost 30 years ago that I began my training in hematology/oncology. I had a special interest in the emerging field of medical oncology. While hematology had a long and distinguished history as a subspecialty focus in medicine, oncology care had been primarily the domain of surgeons and radiotherapists, with a limited role for internists.
