Current Theories and Evidence

Creative thinking and collaborative scientific research have advanced our understanding of autism, and we are now beginning to synthesize the data into evidence and theories. Our lack of knowledge about the causes and pathogenesis of autism has been associated with widely divergent approaches to diagnosis and management, most of which have not been subjected to rigorous scientific scrutiny.
