Definition, Diagnosis, and Management
Primary immunodeficiency diseases (PID) are a group of inborn disorders with defects in one or more components of the immune system, characterized by increased incidence of infections, autoimmunity and malignancies. Although primary immunodeficiency diseases seem to be rare, the number of diagnosed patients is growing up in the recent years and more than 150 different forms of PID are now known.
