This compilation contains minireviews derived from work presented at the Aegean Conference: “Second Crossroads between Innate and Adaptive Immunity,” which took place from June 17 to 22, 2007 at the Aldemar Knossos Royal Village on the island of Rhodes, Greece. The goal of this conference series is to understand how the initial innate immune response that recognizes ancient patterns of infection can inform and influence the subsequent adaptive response that learns and focuses on a subset of idiotypic antigens.
