This study is the result of an interdisciplinary research collaboration and coproduction between scholars from eight different countries (Denmark, Iceland, France, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, the UK and USA). This collaboration, which has lasted since 2004, has been made possible through generous funding from the Norwegian Research Council and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.
