In the presentation of this atlas of pediatric brain tumors, we have followed the 2007 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of brain tumors. We do recognize that there are some tumor types that do not fit nicely into this classification. It is also critically important to recognize that pediatric tumors within the same histological category are significantly different from those occurring in adults.
