The vasculature is an extensive network of blood vessels that distributes oxygen and nutrient rich blood throughout the body. The endothelium, which represents the inner cell lining of blood vessels, exhibits complex spatial and functional heterogeneity that can be disturbed by prolonged cellular activation.
