A variety of fluorescent and luminescent materials in the form of molecules, their complexes, and nanoparticles are available for implementation as reporting units into sensing technologies. Increasing demands from these application areas require development of new fluorescence reporters based on association and aggregation of fluorescence dyes and on their incorporation into different nanostructures.
