Prevention and Treatment for Health
and Well-Being
This book was written during the Obama administration, an administration with a focus on universal health care. While the bulk of this policy discussion centers on strategies for containing costs and making affordable treatment available, there is a small undercurrent taking into consideration such questions as “What can be done to prevent the chronic diseases that drive most health care costs?” and “How can we best prepare for unpredictable adversities that pose challenges to physical and mental health, such as new strains of influenza, natural disasters, and war?”
