Stem cells are proven to be able to differentiate into all types of cells in our bodies, including cardiomyocytes. In spite of the immuno-privileges of autologous transplantation of human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs), current safety issues include the potential risk of teratoma formation and immature phenotype of cardiomyocytes, leading to arrhythmia.
